Lucas changed along with the other draw cards, now if you got no draw pile you can pull one from discard pile. Mavis 24 hp, gives you energy fragment and removes one from opponent. No more energy gain. Robin 24 hp, increases damage by 4, caps at 100 so maybe stacks. When it dies, deals 4 aoe. Little owl deals 2x20 damage, and each new one 20 more, similarly to dino, but starts lower, up to 4 stacks of bonus so it's a 120 damage top (and bonus from runes and charms). But you can have up to 3 of this so might be strong for lategame. The initial 40 and then 60 is quite weak so you pay 2-3 energy to ramp it up. Per axie not per team. Ear, mouth and eyes. Pink cheek changed like telescope, 2 draw then discard 2 from all not before. But now is unstable so shuffles a confuse. Same as nerdy as expected. Early bird is 2 hits, same damage overall but the charms for aoe and multi hit are weaker generally. Peace maker applies weak 4 turns instead of 2 and bonus of 20 not 15. Curly is like peace maker but with fragile. Was pure damage 65, so 5 nerf, and 15 better with fragile, but won't go under shields. Both ear and mouth. Risky bird 4 turns bleed to self, from 2, similar to other risky cards, bigger self harm for the 15 bonus (was 20). Doubletalk: 2 random hits which give jinx per unique hit. Jinx now scales up. No more sleep, that seems to be a plant specialty now. Balloon: same fear for 4 turn, but now if you hit a shield it applies hex. Guess it's good against axies with only attack or only defense cards. Cupid: applies weak now, not bleed, 2 hits, same damage but charms and runes might modify it. Goes better with peace makers. Raven targets closest or furthest now. More aqua-like card. (not sure if it's random or choice, didn't see clarified anywhere). Gives jinx, but now better synergy with double talk. Tri feather: no more doubt applied. Random 3 hits that give feathers to all per each unique hit. Also 5 less damage but the feathers make up for it later. Eggshell is a 70 shield now, targetable, no more taunt. Also applies egg shell, summons gain 25 hp end of turn. Lasts 4 turns. Specified that 'your turn' so summons gain 50 shield. Cucko: essentially the same, but like the difference between a cleanse or a cleanser. Has to be applied to prevent sleep, not cleaning sleep, same 65 dmg bonus. Also probably worse against oranda/arco/and the new beech as it seems to be a single buff instead of a 65 stack. Changes to cards on healing mouths also might be a nerf for it. Trump: randomly deal 3 hits of 25, instead of the scaling +6 dmg. similar to bamboo. Kestrel: now it's a dispel card, probably the best one, new beech is unlimited but 2 cost, this one is 1 dispel per card played before it. Similar how teal shell worked but for dispels. Will synergize with watering can and lumber shield. Wing horn: more expensive, 2 energy, instead of 2x35, deals 3x40 random. If you kill or hit low health (under 60%) targets, you get 2 'feather daggers' (not feathers), which deal 5 damage each so possible 6, which fills your hand a lot, so probably need to use most of it. Will synergize with kestrel if kept, or topaz (if it stays the same) if used. They don't mention if they targetable so I assume it goes frontline. It's retained like lumber shields and pure waters. Feather spear now 2 hits of 30, gives 1 feather and 1 bonus for each other spear in deck. So similarly to bamboo, it scales faster having 3 horns, but this one is a bit easier as it includes reptile spears. Swallow destroys 5 more potential shield. Way to make an update and say 95% bird cards changed, without any significant change. The last one is 5 less damage and 5 more conditional damage, basically same but can be harder to have it as the last attack card, especially with more draw, but maybe the energy and a lucas card helps on that front. Cloud: no more damage, no more silence. But it's a 0 cost granting 2 feather, similarly to a confident granting rage. Granma's fan: no more vulnerable. Aoe was fairly decent but it seems that they moved over the 'vulnerable' effects to aquas. Feather fan 10 less damage, uses up feathers like leafy, but for 1 damage bonus, seems like a passive aggressive nerf. 140->100 damage with a possibility of 3 bonus and the feathers which would be used anyways but not this fast, and since bonus resets if you got no feathers, this might be a bad card unless you got those premium feather runes and charms. But since it's 4 hits, might build bonus damage faster, so it's quite a weird change. Post fight deals 90 instead of 80, same 20 to self.
Feathers are modified, seems you need to juggle between 1 and 10 and never go to 0 as the bonus resets, per axie. You also lose 1 if you used an attack card, so you need a few generators to keep your damage bonus going. Gives 1 damage per hit and goes up by 1 for each target hit, so with new multi hit cards it could deal quite a lot and may be the main focus of birds.
Kingfisher, pigeon post, hungry bird are the same as before. More cards changed to multihit which is a different charm generally. Eggshell and cloud changed drastically.
Prediction: Possible that nut cards will be the same as Owl cards, maybe a different scaling but same values (not multihit just flat higher damage 20 per use). Possible that disarming and silence is removed. Maybe stun too. Doubt is removed from the only card that had it. Heal block for scarab stayed. seems like less cards can disable the opponents, you cant really interact with their values on healing, but more cards target shields, less total disabling. Bugs got back the discard tho so they might just swapped it as a speciality. Reptile lunge card Scaly Spear will be changed to more damage, losing scaling. Might be just the same as Feather Spear, as they usually share this synergy, and one side is confirmed. 13 December 2022
